utorrent hogging ALL internet speed

hey guys...

I've been having this problem for quite some time now but finally I decided to check around here for answers.

problem is that, when utorrent is running,it seems to take ALL internet speed/bandwith/whatever which means that the browser won't even open a single webpage,my DS and WII can't connect to wi-fi and my bro's pc (living downstairs, sharing the same connection) is also unable to load webpages...

this happens EVERYTIME.

it doesn't matter if it's downloading/uploading with 1000kb/s or 2 kb/s

it just takes up all internet speed just by running.

people have said to limit the connection number but still that did nothing.

atm I have global connections set to 350

and connections per torrent to 85

I'm using a 24 Mbp/s connection (but it rarely goes up to even 13 Mbp/s...my ISP is to blame for that)

I'm also using this router that came with the connection package

http://www.baudtec.com.tw/p_wlan%20adsl2+%20router_tw263r4.htm

I really don't know what's going on...I've used utorrent in the past and webpages took some time to load but at least they loaded correctly damnit!

could it be some configuration error from the program?

my router?

already done the speed guide thing and gone through the recommended actions with no success.

i'm using windows 7 32 bit ultimate

avast 5.0.545

AMD athlon 64 X2 5600+

radeon 4850 512 mb

2 GB ram

MSI motherboard (not sure which model)

utorrent reports everything is going well (green icon on the bottom of the program)

firewall is allowing the program to run with no problem.

my problem isn't download speed (just 2 days ago it downloaded 6 GB in about 3-4 hours, which is fast by my speed)

problem is that when it's running, nothing else even remotely associated with internet can function correctly.

Hardly conservative in router terms. Also not the ideal way to eliminate this sort of problem.

Without knowing exactly what the problem is, trying reducing your halfopen and connect_speed to below 10, drop the global connections to 50, turn oiff DHT, and see if that helps. If it does then you know where to look for your troubles.

Don't know about your router, maybe it has settings that would help.
