Genossa Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 I am right now downloading a torrent with a total of 9000+ seeders, but I am only connecting to 30-40 of them, and my speeds is around 30- 150 kB/s. Several months ago I could connect to almost 200 with a speed of 500-1000 kB/s . What could be the problem? And BTW my bandwith is around 5-15 mB/s, (this number varies alot)
Switeck Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 If you get 1000 KiloBYTES/second download speed in uTorrent, then your line's download bandwidth has to be in excess of 8 megabit/second. Shaw cable may have increased their throttling.1st (slow speed/interrupted internet sections) and 2nd links in my signature. Also try rafi's uTorrent Guide: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=74820If none of that helps, try 3rd link in my signature...just keep in mind those methods may not be effective as they depend heavily on HOW your ISP detects/treats BitTorrent and unknown traffic. If the ISP throttles unknown traffic, you're essentially screwed...as even a proxy or VPN can't help that!
Genossa Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 Thanks! I'll try your suggestions, btw, how'd u know I use shaw?
Switeck Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Because there is almost no privacy online... knowing someone's ip address is basically the same as knowing what ISP they're on, unless they're using a proxy or VPN all the time.
