moooo566 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 My torrent says it is downloading, but nothing is happening. It has an ETA of infinite, and there is no speed. I have changed no settings, only just got bittorren and utorrent. Neither will work...I'm sure its something obvious, but what should I do?

moooo566 Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 I looked through all the guides I could find and nothing seemed to help. I did everything it said for configuring my connection. It's not just slow, the torrent is inactive.
DreadWingKnight Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Then provide the information the guide requested of you.
Switeck Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Your ISP may be disrupting/throttling BitTorrent traffic as well.
moooo566 Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 Hadn't thought of that. I'm using a fairly common ISP, so It's nothing particularly obscure. It didn't look like a massively common problem from my (albeit slightly skim read) forum trawls.
Switeck Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Google for BitTorrent throttling by your ISP?
moooo566 Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 Lots of people seem to be talking about slow connections, but there is nothing completely stopping it that I can see.
moooo566 Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 I deleted utorrent and then downloaded it again and it works, if slowly (that seems to be my problem though). If nothing else works, reboot. Thanks.
Switeck Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 So you followed the link mentioned by DreadWingKnight and that solved the slow speed problem?
