kpowers Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 After visiting the official BitTorrent site and looking for their forums, I was directed here. The new release of BitTorrent has a massive memory leak and fails to shutdown correctly sometimes. Today I found a bittorrent process running that had about a GB of memory allocated. After awhile the program kicks out an error message saying the that your computer is full, which is not true. I will post the exact message shortly. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks,Ken
DreadWingKnight Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Post the hijackthis log and process explorer process list for the bittorrent.exe process please.
kpowers Posted November 24, 2010 Author Report Posted November 24, 2010 I have seen switched to Vuse. I got sick of it failing every few hour or that memory leak was so severe that it allocate another MB of memory every few second while dl'ing one item.
DreadWingKnight Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Guess what.If it's actually a bug in BitTorrent (which I highly doubt given its performance on other machines) your action will NOT get things fixed. So if you want it fixed, provide the logs.
Switeck Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 "I got sick of it failing every few hour or that memory leak was so severe that it allocate another MB of memory every few second while dl'ing one item."Likely means hostile software on your computer is causing this problem.
