Utorrent and p2p games.

So since i bought an xbox utorrent has been quite a problem for me. Whenever anyone from my family turns utorrent on at the laptop, my connection bar in Black Ops drop to red, even though there is no download speed with torrents. Can anyone suggest me what to do so my mum can leave utorrent on when i play p2p games?

I'm not english it's hard to explain what i mean.
