nikhilm89 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Is there any way to download individual files within a torrent one by one? For example, suppose I'm downloading a TV show that has about a hundred episodes. If I try to download all of them at once it will take me about a week (I have a relatively slow internet connection). And I can't watch even a single episode until the whole thing has been downloaded. So instead, I download the episodes one or two at a time so that I can watch the individual episodes as I download them. But this is a tedious process.I was wondering if there was any way to queue up individual files within a torrent so that they download one by one successively. If I was trying to do this for multiple torrents (as opposed to multiple files within a single torrent) then all I have to do is set the maximum number of active downloads to 1 and queue up the rest of the torrents. But how do I do the same thing for multiple files within the same torrent? If there is some way I can do it, that is.
Ultima Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 µTorrent 3.0 has a "Prioritize by File Order" option. Other than that, no, not really -- not unless you prioritize files manually.
BeckiMason Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 When i do this i set the first episode to high priority, (right click file within the files tab in the detailed info window)I set the second to normal and the rest to low.If the next time i look the first is finished, i set the second to high and the third to normal.Follow this pattern until finished. Not a perfect solution but it does do the job, after the first you should have a rough idea how long to wait between checks.
