Disease8 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 After my torrent has downloaded utorrent says invalid download state and there is nothing in the containing folder?!?!? Very strange as it was working fine, downloaded several large files and suddenly this started happening! Its not the torrent because lots of people are seeding and there ahve been no other compaints? Very strange I keep downloading different torrents of the same software I need and it always does the same. The downladed folder take up the amount of space its supposed to be (2gb) but there is nothing inside it?If someone could help me out I would be most appreciative its very frustrating and I need to DL this app to get to work got lots to do. Thank you,Disease.
moogly Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Run a search in Windows Explorer to find the files (torrent files are listed in the Files tab after selecting the torrent job). Then http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=439943#p439943
Disease8 Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 Thank You For The Reply!!!!So I have to change the download folder after every torrent I download? That's super lame . What about the torrents that are still in the process of downloading? I cannot change the download location in the middle of downloading? :/
Disease8 Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 Is that what you mean or can I just set the download location to the same location its already in? As this download is in the middle and I do not want it to delete itself as its taken ages to download its 20 gb!Thanks for any help I receive!!
moogly Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 You can set a main download storage folder in 'Preferences > Directories' (for downloading/finished torrent jobs). But when you add a new torrent, you can select another download location when you see the Add New Torrent dialog box (that implies you enabled this option of course). When a torrent has been loaded into µT, you can change the download location by right clicking on the torrent job (you need to stop it).
Disease8 Posted November 26, 2010 Author Report Posted November 26, 2010 Really sorry but you haven't really answered my questions. I understand how to use utorrent but my download is 75% done so does that mean that I have to restart the download in a new location to have it without it deleting itseld and saying invalid download location?
moogly Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 µT is able to resume torrent jobs, so just move the files, change the download location and force a recheck if necessary, that's all.
Disease8 Posted November 26, 2010 Author Report Posted November 26, 2010 Thankis so much for your advice thats making sense now :-)And do I have to do this everytime I need to download?
moogly Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 No. Only if you move the files yourself, you have to change the download location.By default, µT saves all the torrents in the same storage folder.
