silent.killer.21 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Some torrents I had deleted/moved the files, but did not delete the torrent from uTorrent. Previously when I updated, there used to be no problem. But updating to 2.2 cause a re-check upon install and they are all listed as Error: Invalid download state, try resuming. How do I update without it re-checking?
HASJ Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I had the same problem, but now I just live with the problem, it bothers me, but I tried everything and the only solution I came up with was to download only a single little file from the torrents to show them as completed, but that's just not practical at all.I have 200+ torrents. Imagine those people with 1000+?
Ultima Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 No way to prevent this, really. The current version of µTorrent seems to insist on checking for the existence of all files on start. It's not an issue stemming from the install/upgrade process itself.
silent.killer.21 Posted November 26, 2010 Author Report Posted November 26, 2010 Too bad. Hope it changes in one of the future releases. I've got hundreds of torrents showing errors. Rolling back to 2.0 fixed it though.
DreadWingKnight Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 If you've moved the files around, re-target them.As for the torrents that you've deleted the files from, why keep them in your task list?
Zephyr281 Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Because when downloading a series of similar files...like numbered episodes and such it's easier to keep the last one in the list and use that to keep track of your current position so you don't end up redownloading something. It checks for existence of the target files with every startup and since I sort the files out into folders after they are downloaded almost my entire list is errors. Before you ask I don't sort things out before the download because I often have a chance to acquire a better version or simply don't keep the file for long after I'm done with it and I'm often not sure which it will be...so I just put them all in one folder.
cloudy Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Yes, this is an usability issue. Imagine i have 8000+ torrents worth of Japanese Anime episodes, Soundtracks, Manga etc.etc. I keep still keep the torrent in the list for a year in order to keep track and prevent downloading exact duplicates.
