eRage
Hi people,I have a very simple, yet very complex problem:This is my internet connectionThis is my internet connection on uTorrent (Or any other P2P program for that matter)And my download speed doesn't even go higher then 300KB/s and sticks around 100KB/s most of the time even though the status light is very green indeed. Which is strange as my upload speed easily reaches 1-2MB/s. It's been like this since I upgraded from XP to Windows 7 Professional yesterday. Just upgraded, so there are no wacky processes either. Before that I was getting 1-3MB/s download speeds, which was allright but after a while I'd get a BSOD or it would completely freeze up, hence the upgrade. Also, before that everything else would work like a charm while downloading (Up to the seemingly random BSOD's) while now internet in general is sluggish when dld'ing, as is the uTorrent program itself.I've optimised every single setting, didn't help. I've tried alternatives, didn't help. I checked the firewall, didn't help. I don't even have an antivirus program, doesn't help either. I'm using fine torrents, to no avail. I've got the latest drivers from the onboard LAN manufacturer (Attansic L1, but they are different from the one I was using on XP which where directly from Asus for the P5KC, but they don't supply P5KC drivers for Windows 7), nothing seems to work, it is very frustrating.I've run out of ideas, fixes and hope in general. What is there left for me to do?
Switeck
Your ISP may give very high local speeds (to same city/ISP/country)...but terrible speeds to the rest of the internet.
eRage
Thanks for the reply, but no, I had another look and it seems the latest drivers for my onboard lan just don't really work as well as the Asus drivers did. Unfortunately Asus doesn't make windows 7 drivers for the P5KC, which is odd as it's really not thát old yet. Buying a seperate LAN card fixed the problem, It's working like a charm again. I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
Switeck
Windows 7 incompatibilities are a HUGE problem right now.Lots of companies took their Win XP software and called that "Win 7 compatible" without major changes.
