flagstang
I am using Bittorrent, but I've heard it's the same as uTorrent, so someone would know this.I am downloading multiple files with very big (8+ Gigs) sizes each. When I Look at the down speed for each seperate file, it's only 50-200 (well one is 700). The total down speed is 1.45 - 1.50 and i can't ever go higher. If I pause some of the torrents i'm downloading, the remaining ones will get higher down speeds. My connection is 10mb down and 1 mb up (That's what I'm paying for). If I go to Speedtest.net and test my connection (Killing bittorrent of course) this is the result:I find it wierd that bittorrent can't download faster than 1.5mb when my connection is 13mbMy PC is connected to a switch with 2 cables (I'm using GA-EX58-UD5) and from that to a router/modem.Is the switch the issue? Or is it something else?If anyone have an answer for that you're welCome to post.

I thought that everything that's internet related was in BitsMultiply by eight Thank you, I couldn't remember How much to multiply with
lithopsian
File sizes are always in bytes (and k- or M- bytes), as are disks, and memory, and almost everything on your computer. uTorrent downloads files, therefore reports speed in bytes. bit speeds are a holdover from the days when we had dial-up so slow that bytes made no sense (remember your first 9600 baud modem?). Now we're stuck with something that is effectively meaningless because ISPs are too scared to offer a product that looks slower and users probably wouldn't pay for it.
