Voidbane
So i've got two problems with utorrent, first is that when i start downloading it runs fine, speed caps at 1.1-1.2 mbs,but after a while it drops to like 20 kbs or even lower.Second is that each time i have utorrent on,not necessarily downloading anything or uploading my internet starts lagging horribly, including games, chat programs, browers and what not.I checked the guides out,i ran a test and my ISP is not blocking me and i got that little green tick saying that everything is fine from the network.I'm not on a router, but the port i'm using (55000) is blocked and idk how to open it since i've already added utorrent as a exception to both windows and NOD32.Any ideas? Switeck
Is this slowdown true for others on different computers on the same internet connection? Is your modem also a router?

biano1
I have seen the same thing. I have tried to eliminate every other possibility. I have had my ISP out to my house several time trying to find out why my band width is so bad considering I have a 12M dedicated line. I am seeing only around 3 to 4M. Sad to say I have tracked it to utorrent. My bandwidth drops within 5 seconds after starting up utorrent even when nothing is being downloaded and maybe 50 to 75k uploaded. I am seeing horrible speeds of .2k to .9k down but it is still tearing up 6 to 8M of bandwidth. My speed jumps right back to normal as soon as I shut down utorrent. When I first started using utorrent it seemed to function normally seeing down speed of around 1M cap then I downloaded a large file around 50G it took more then a month speed dropped to near nothing and sometimes literally nothing. I reset my modem and machine and that sometimes kick started it but speeds were still lousy. Now even after that file is no longer being downloaded I can not have utorrent running in the back round to allow seeding because it kills my connection. I want to leave it on to seed but it tears up so much bandwidth that some days I cant get my browser to open a page. I have gone through the setup guide and it was working just fine until I tried to download that large file then it went straight down the tube and hasn't been the same since.
