Windows 7 x64 freezes when μtorrent is running

Hello,

I've been experiencing random freezes on my Windows 7 x64 system when μtorrent is running. They sometimes happen within a few minutes, sometimes only after several hours. But the system always becomes completely unresponsive - doesn't respond to mouse or keyboard, no way to start task manager or to create a dump file. There is no blue screen. I have to do a hard reset and reboot.

The system is an ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 board (onboard Realtek RTL8111E network interface, Athlon II X4 610, SATA 3) with 8 GB of RAM.

It's a relatively fresh installation of Windows 7 with the latest Winows 7 updates and the latest manufacturer drivers.

Avira Antivir personal says my system is clean.

I tried 2.2, the beta, even the 3.0 alpha (build 23217). The freezes happen with all of them. They seem more frequent with heavy transfer activity. I have tried unchecking disable windows caching of disk reads and writes. I've set μtorrent's processor affinity to use only 1 CPU. No success.

At this point I'm out of ideas. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Did you follow the setup guide (CTRL+G) for both upload and download speeds?

Having same problem as above.

Clean install on Win 7 64bit Enterprise.

I ran the Setup guide and configured 2 file locations, where to autoload torrents from and where to move finnished torrents.

I managed to download 2 torrents.

Next day when i started the machine (utorrent starting up with windows) and it freezes within 5-10 sec. from startup.

It does this no matter how i start it up. The freezes does not imply on my system stability, but i usually have to kill utorrent from the task manager. It can't be closed down gracefully.

I even uninstalled it and tried to reinstall, but still same problem. Utorrent freezes before the setup guide finnishes

Another person running the same windows version on our network has no problems

I have Utorrent running on a Win 7 64bit Ultimate at home without a problem

The troublesome machine is an IBM Thinkpad T60 wich connects to the internet via wireless wich is set as primary adapter and a wired adapter wich is only sometimes in use to connect to lab setups to configure switches and routers.
