uTorrent keeps on trying to connect to internet

In recent versions of utorrent I can't seem to shut it off. When I delete any listed torrents, when I close utorrent down and when I use "Task Manager" to shut down any vestige of the program remaining, it still keeps trying to send. It is only stopped by the Windows 7 firewall that I have closed up after I'm done with the client.

Yesterday, I uninstalled it and it kept on sending until I rebooted and deleted the utorrent folder from Program Files.

What's up with this? It acts like "spyware" even if it's not.

What am I missing here?

Utorrent must be running in memory if it's not listed under Applications, right? I couldn't find it in Processes or Services with a superficial look around there but what I'll do is reinstall it and look closer at this behavior, as a test.

Utorrent has worked well for me in the past and if it kept on running after I've closed it, I was able to find and stop it in Task manager but the last several editions including 2.2 have had this seemingly odd behavior.

Sorry to have bothered you. I just thought this might ring a bell with others. I'll post back if I have a clearer idea of what's going on.
