µTorrent Mac 1.1 beta (23574)

I have a strange situation ... after installing version 1.1 in the Dock icon is displayed on the upload speed of about 0,1 - 0,3 K and download speeds 0.3 - 0.7 K. No torrents were not added.

I have this same issue. I understand that this is just the bare minimum random network traffic or something, but transmission never displayed it, so im not sure why µTorrent is displaying it. When there are no torrents active, the icon badges should go inactive or something.

Also, the icon badges don't update very accurately. I had a torrent file finish downloading and the torrent badge showed very high download speeds for up to 30 seconds after the download finished.

But overall, this beta is a great improvement. Love the new features, they just need some polishing up

One more bug report:

When adding a multi-file torrent, after the .torrent file from my downloads folder opens and the window pops up letting me select certain files to download or not download, if i decide not to download that torrent and i press cancel, the torrent starts anyway. Although this does not happen when the .torrent file is located anywhere outside of my downloads folder.

Yet another bug:

When µTorrent is already open, and i download a .torrent file from a website into my downloads folder, µTorrent does the right thing and opens the file and comes up with the window for selecting which files to download, priority, etc.. BUT, when µTorrent is closed and i download a .torrent file, the µTorrent app opens up, and then opens up the .torrent file that i had just downloaded but skips past the file selection window. It just starts the whole torrent right away.

I deleted the old .plist files, support files and logs with the help of appzapper, and then reinstalled 1.1 beta. I don't know yet if that has solved the issue. But it seems more unstable the more downloads I have simultaneously downloading.

EDIT:

I left it running over night with only one torrent added to list and downloading. This morning uTorrent was not running - ergo, it crashed, and deleting plist files and support files didn't resolve anything.

Kind of a critical bug, so I'm surprised the developer team hasn't provided a "quick" fix for this. If I'm not wrong, it seems like the last time they updated/released the 1.1 was in early december.

I respectfully ask, where's the fix??

In 1.1 beta crashes very often. It is possible that bug appeared after update to 10.6.6.

P.S. I returned to the stable version 1.0.2.

I'm occuring the same random crash, and also a huge use of cpu, even if i'm not downloading or uploading file che process is stuck at about 20%

well, 1.1 is a beta, I would never expect a beta to be stable. I would like to see beta versions happen more frequently, but they don't because I think the mac team to spread pretty thin working on multi projects, so I guess we should be happy with what we have.

Nobody mentioned this yet : the newest version allows partial torrent DL. This feature works FINE : if you select three files you get three files (with Transmission you got 4 5 or 6 files).

Same here. Although the new functionality is ok' date=' if you don't use the auto-load feature, it's important to auto-delete manually added torrents.

I can't give priorities to the files inside torrent while downloading. They all get low priority. This wasn't an issue in stable version.

@silentbobie we changed the trash torrent feature to work on auto loaded torrents in Directories. This is the same as our WIndows client, but it does eliminate the functionality of trashing the torrent on manual add. If there is enough interest in the old functionality, it's something we could add back. We are trying to keep the preferences from growing too complex on mac, so we are pruning where we think it makes sense.

In regards to this I've created a Feature Request in Idea Bank to bring back the feature:

"Move to trash" after opening a torrent.

If users want this feature added back, you should show interest by voting for it. Here is the link:

µTorrent beta (1.1 build 23574) for Mac got a serious Unicode bug!

All I have using Unicode (Korean & Japanese) files in torrent's are got an error. (Error: No such file or directory)

µTorrent Stable (1.0.2) are fine.

Please fix this bug ASAP~

Crashed after running about 4 hours

It's been up and running fine on my system for the last few days. No random crashes.

Like all the new features VERY much. The hard work you guys have done was well worth it.

However; I tried to add a new torrent today but the process failed.

Everything was fine up to and including clicking on "Create & Save as".

Normally the green bar at the bottom of the little window progresses along until the torrent is created.

This time it just sat there. Nothing happened. I waited a few minutes before cancelling.

Tried the process two more times with the same result.

Anyone else have this happen?

v1,1.0 - noticed Wasted count increasing; it is now showing as -100xx ... B - I assume overflow.

Restarted v1.1.0 several times; reverted to v1.0.2. Have not noticed the extreme updating of Wasted.

Edit: Have noted number of seeds increased for each download

What's really great with the latest (23574) version is that I can DL a part of a torrent with it then switch back to 17226 (my fav for sheer seeding speeds) and seed the partially DLed torrrent.
