LibriVox
I have read the FAQ, done web searches for creating a tracker, followed other FAQs, searched these forums, and come up empty. (Almost)I have my own webserver, static IP address, and thus complete control over software implementation and configuration. (Running Fedora Distro)I am trying to host/seed thousands of files of a few terrabytes in size for a LibriVox.org. (Open Domain Audio Books, if anyone's curious).Everywhere I look, anytime someone asks about setting up a tracker the problem and answer is usually:a) The person didn't know what a tracker was, and meant torrent. (I know the difference and want to setup my own tracker, instead of using something like pirate-bay) The person was doing a small-scale project, sharing a few files between a few friends. (I am unsure of the usefulness in thousands of trackerless torrents, but I feel it is better implemented to using a dedicated tracker. Open to suggestions)c) The person had their own tracker setup, but it was a 'private' tracker, and the discussion never mentioned what software he was using. (I definitely want a PUBLIC tracker, and the month of research leads me to believe that the utorrent software will work, but I'm not entirely sure.)Any help identifying the right software (preferably with a lot of administrative statistic information on downloads [number of downloads, recent downloads, etc]) and/or a good reference on how to implement your own tracker would be greatly appreciated.-Matt
DreadWingKnight
the #bittorrent channel on freenode is likely a better place for this question, as uTorrent deals primarily with the client and has no robust tracker package.
Firon
Opentracker is your best bet. It's fairly easy to use and configure.
