no user interface available

Running xp sp3 fully updated on pentium4 with 2.5 Gb ram. Have been using utorrent for a few years and d/l latest stable version about 2 months ago without problems.

The last two attempts to use utorrent have been unsuccessful.

No icon appears on my taskbar to

1) show that the program is running and

2) allowing access to the interface.

Task Manager shows utorrent process running and network monitor shows internet activity.

Without an icon on the taskbar, I cannot open the user interface and cannot control the program.

Is there another way to start the interface

I could reinstall but will I lose current torrents?
