thadt
I am using uTorrent 2.0.4 If I download uTorrent 2.2 (Stable) and install it, after about 2 or 3 minutes I get "Not Responding" and I have to shut uTorrent down. Most times I'll restart my computer just to be safe but the problem creeps up again. The arrows are all red and then I once again get "Not Responding"I have tried my best to see if others are experiencing this problem but thus far I don't know. So I reverted back to 2.0.4. Has anyone else been having this problem? Is there a way to solve it? If 2.2 is now stable, shouldn't I be able to install it sans problems? My antivirus program is Microsoft Security Essentials. I am using a proxy service and I don't know if that is contributing to the problem but in 2.0.4 the proxy service is just fine. I simply cannot figure this out and it is driving me insane.ThadWindows 7 Home Premium - 1.86GHz - 4 GB Memory

twin14
I have the same problem. First I have thought that it is caused by my Win 98SE operating system, which is officially unsupported from the version 2.x. But up to the version 2.04 with the help of KernelEx, uTorrent worked properly on my 98SE. Now I see that also users with Win 7 have the same crashes. I seem to be having trouble with the 2.2.1 bata ver. When I use the Map feature to view where the people are uploading to me, it locks up on me when I zoom inand try to zoom out.Im using 2.2 now and it seems better, but I'll see what happens in the future.Anyone else have simmular troubles? Also, what happened to the pirate bay, My tracker list says that they refused connection???TTFNsparkie4080
thadt
Hi Sparkie,I am worried that your post will get us off track regarding our problem with version 2.0.4 being the only version that will work and that if we update to 2.2, uTorrent stops working (Not Responding). We still haven't gotten help for this yet so it might be a good idea for you to post your problem in a "New Topic" instead?Once Again Here Is The Problem ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I am using uTorrent 2.0.4 If I download uTorrent 2.2 (Stable) and install it, after about 2 or 3 minutes I get "Not Responding" and I have to shut uTorrent down. mrchinaplate
Good call thadt, and there does seem to be many threads on problems that start with the update. As many may have seen elswhere, I have had a similsr set of symptoms. Having followed the inputs across the forums my first move was to reinstall a previous version and all issues vanished. I would have been happy to leave things at that until further information emerged, had not someone mentioned that the update had some critical fixs regarding leaks around proxies. Paranoia got the better of me and I applied the 2.2.1 update yesterday. It seems to be running as smooth as 2.0.4, with no issues emerging so far. Of prime interest to me was the high cpu usage and heating with 2.2, and that's not happening now. I am not in a position to spend time diagnosing the updates problems, I just need my machine stable. It's been a good reminder to look twice at updates and maybe keep a few more of those older updates just in case. This is a great no nonsense program and I must thank the team. uTorrent has been a constant for so long, running away in the background as I get on with things, that any problem was a surprise.ChinaWin7*64Athlon64*22.44GHz4g
