nanoflamer
I registered just to ask this question.. So i have some issues with my download speeds. My results from speedtest.net are as follows Download : 10.15 megabits/s Upload : 0.82 megabits/sSo, if i'm correct , my max download speed should be somewhere around 1.2 megabytes/s ? But instead , my speeds now are around 30kb/s to 80kb/s . Only sometimes i get 400kb/s - 500kb/s but even then it's not my full speed.I have port forwarded my port but i'm getting this from the set-up guide : Neither NAT-PMP nor UPnP is enabled. Please check your preferences. My preferences are .. ( uTorrent 2.2 )Connection . Enable UPnP port mapping ( unchecked ). Enable NAT-PMP port mapping ( checked ). Randomize port each start ( unchecked ). Add Windows Firewall exception ( checked )Bandwidth. Maximum upload rate (kB/s): 84- unchecked. Maximum download rate (kB/s): 0Global Rate Limit Options - unchecked- checked - uncheckedNumbers of Connections. Global maximum number of connections 268 . Maximum number of connected peers per torrent 268. Number of upload slots per torrent 7BitTorrent. All checked except for Limit local peer bandwidth. Outgoing : Enabled ( checked , Allow incoming legacy connections ) Queueing . Max number of active torrents: 5 . Max active downloads 4Minimum Ratio 150%Minimum seeding time 0unchecked uncheckedSo.. i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong , the upload values from the Bandwidth tab were obtained from the Azerus Calculator or something like that. I would really appreciate if someone could tell me whats wrong and how to fix it to get my desired speeds .. Thank you so much (:- A very young kid.. Switeck
(from 1st and 2nd links in my signature.)Your per-torrent max connections is too high, especially relative to your global max connections.Your total upload slots (upload slots per torrent times max active torrents) is too high if most of them are in use...because average upload speed per upload slot would be below 3 KB/sec.84 KB/sec / (7 * 5) = 2.4 KB/sec average upload speed per upload slotTo get peers to give back more, you need to upload slightly more to them than most everyone else does...or in other words about 5 KB/sec each.Uncheck NAT-PMP port mapping, since you say you don't need it.It may also be the torrent swarms are just made of few/slow peers/seeds. nanoflamer
Thanks for your reply! i've followed your guide (second link in your sig) and now my upload speeds range from 0.1kB/s -0.5kB/s and sometimes it jumps to 7.0kB/s for about 2 seconds ..I'm currently downloading a 600 MB file with 3037 seeds and 1334 peers my download speed atm is 170 kB/s upload 0.6 kB/s I wanna be able to get at least 800 kB/s download speed ? i still don't know whats wrong ):
Switeck
Maybe you're overloading your networking with too many connections at once?
