vinn
Hey, I've been using utorrent on xp for quite a few years now. I've just upgraded to win7 yesterday. It was working fine until I installed utorrent and started downloading, then I saw a disk overload error and since then my PC would totally freeze everytime I try to download anything with utorrent. I've tried tweaking the disk cache setting in utorrent (different websites say the different things!) but its still crashing. Any help is greatly appreciated!Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4Scan saved at 1:17:19 PM, on 12/12/2010Platform: Windows 7 (WinNT 6.00.3504)MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.7600.16671)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\Windows\system32\taskhost.exeC:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exeC:\Windows\Explorer.EXEC:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exeC:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Essentials\msseces.exeC:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exeC:\Program Files\Razer\Diamondback 3G\razerhid.exeC:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtHDVCpl.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exeC:\Program Files\Razer\Diamondback 3G\razerofa.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Live\Contacts\wlcomm.exeC:\Users\Alvin\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeC:\Users\Alvin\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeC:\Users\Alvin\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeC:\Users\Alvin\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeC:\Windows\system32\SearchProtocolHost.exeC:\Users\Alvin\Desktop\HijackThis.exeR1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.localR0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName = O2 - BHO: Windows Live ID Sign-in Helper - {9030D464-4C02-4ABF-8ECC-5164760863C6} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WindowsLiveLogin.dllO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P17RunE] RunDll32 P17RunE.dll,RunDLLEntryO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSSE] "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Essentials\msseces.exe" -hide -runkeyO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottimeO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Diamondback] C:\Program Files\Razer\Diamondback 3G\razerhid.exeO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RtHDVCpl] C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtHDVCpl.exeO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [amd_dc_opt] C:\Program Files\AMD\Dual-Core Optimizer\amd_dc_opt.exeO4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Google Update] "C:\Users\Alvin\AppData\Local\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe" /cO4 - HKCU\..\Run: [msnmsgr] "C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe" /backgroundO10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\windows live\wlidnsp.dllO10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\windows live\wlidnsp.dllO16 - DPF: {D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000} (Shockwave Flash Object) - http://fpdownload2.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cabO16 - DPF: {D4B68B83-8710-488B-A692-D74B50BA558E} (Creative Software AutoUpdate Support Package) - http://ccfiles.creative.com/Web/softwareupdate/ocx/15113/CTPIDPDE.cabO16 - DPF: {F6ACF75C-C32C-447B-9BEF-46B766368D29} (Creative Software AutoUpdate Support Package) - http://ccfiles.creative.com/Web/softwareupdate/ocx/15113/CTPID.cabO23 - Service: Apple Mobile Device - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\AppleMobileDeviceService.exeO23 - Service: Bonjour Service - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exeO23 - Service: Creative Audio Engine Licensing Service - Creative Labs - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Creative Labs Shared\Service\CTAELicensing.exeO23 - Service: Creative Audio Service (CTAudSvcService) - Creative Technology Ltd - C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\CTAudSvc.exeO23 - Service: iPod Service - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exeO23 - Service: NVIDIA Display Driver Service (nvsvc) - NVIDIA Corporation - C:\Windows\system32\nvvsvc.exe--End of file - 4429 bytes
moogly
When Win7 is crashing, do you see a BSOD?Do you have dump files (.dmp) in the folder C:\Windows\Minidump\?
