thadt
I am using uTorrent 2.0.4 If I download uTorrent 2.2 (Stable) and install it, after about 2 or 3 minutes I get "Not Responding" and I have to shut uTorrent down. Most times I'll restart my computer just to be safe but the problem creeps up again. The arrows are all red and then I once again get "Not Responding"I have tried my best to see if others are experiencing this problem but thus far I don't know. So I reverted back to 2.0.4. Has anyone else been having this problem? Is there a way to solve it? If 2.2 is now stable, shouldn't I be able to install it sans problems? My antivirus program is Microsoft Security Essentials. I am using a proxy service and I don't know if that is contributing to the problem but in 2.0.4 the proxy service is just fine. I simply cannot figure this out and it is driving me insane.ThadWindows 7 Home Premium - 1.86GHz - 4 GB Memory
ear2ear1
I'm having the same problem with both (BitTorrent 7.2 and µTorrent 2.2).They both consume 60+% of my CPU each - no tray icon and no window.Windows 7 Home Premium; x64; Core2Duo 1.83GHz;4GB; Windows Security Essentials, AVG; ClamWin; ClamWin64; ClamAV-64.ClamAV-64 reported BitTorrent 7.2 as having containing spyware. I disabled ClamAV-64 and no luck.
mrchinaplate
G'day all I've just allowed uTorrent to update and its turned into a dog. It's taking forever to start, consuming huge resourses (and heating up my cpu), and continualy fading in and out of 'not responding'. It's shuffled all my files and columb choices, and the right click menu is often missing. Whats going on? How can I go back to the previous version? Help! Using Win7 with BTGuard. isepiq
I had the same problem with 'not responding' with the last two 2.2 updates. I found that after letting it run for a couple days, & using task manager to end it, then restarting it appears to have fixed the problem. uTorrent is doing 'something' when first updated. I don't know what. On all my computers the latest 2.2 is now finally working properly again, but not at first. It is a mystery. Note: you NEED uTorrent 2.2 if you use a proxy service, because the newest version has LEAK FIXES in it for socks 5 etc!!! Hope this is of some help?IMHOisepiq:cool:
Firon
Have you tried 2.2.1 beta instead? I'm curious if that reduces the CPU usage for you.

mrchinaplate
Have you tried 2.2.1 beta instead? I'm curious if that reduces the CPU usage for you.G'day Firon, does the beta address any of these issues? I usually avoid betas for obvious reasons. Unlike some of the fortunate and helpful souls here I don't have a spare rig handy to trial things at the moment and must have my prime rig running smoothly. Does the beta come without the optional items added ? It would not surprise me to find many current issues in the forums could be related.Cheers
ear2ear1
Have you tried 2.2.1 beta instead? I'm curious if that reduces the CPU usage for you.3.0 beta is currently doing alright. Resource use is negligible.

Don;t recall for sure. But 2.2 & up have the Proxy Fix. Do NOT use older versions with a proxy!
mrchinaplate
Unfortunately many are finding it does not seem to work. These 'leaks' seem to make a mockery of the claims by BTGuard of total security.
isepiq
In the advanced install on the BTGuard Web Site, it now shows the new Proxy settings for 2.2 & up. The problem was not BTGuard, but with the uTorrent Client. Remember, we are all pioneering this stuff together! There is always some risk involved with that.IMHOisepiq
mrchinaplate
the BTGuard Web Site, it now shows the new Proxy settings for 2.2 & up.That's good I'll have a look. I could not find any link to ask BTGuard any questions. It is now triggering a stack overflow error on start up, without uTorrent running.
