Port Forward Problem

Hoping someone can help. The speed test on uT says error on port forward

I have the following setup,

Billion BIPAC5100 router connected to the net.

both inside and outside static IP. inside 192.168.1.254 0utside xxx.xxx.131.237

the inside is then connected to a belkin F5D7230-4 wirless router via static ip outside of belkin is 192.168.1.101 to inside of Billion which is ip 192.168.1.254, I am connected to the belkin via CAT5 my ip is static on 192.168.2.100, inside of belkin is 192.168.2.1

all subnet masks are 255.255.255.0

Question:

Should I be forwarding ports on both the billion and belkin, should they both be forward to the computer IP of 192.168.2.100 or should the billion be forwarded to the belkin and the belkin forwarded to the computer.

I have tried both ways, no joy, have disabled the firewall and tested both ways and still no joy. any help would be great

PC ( 192.168.2.100) ---->192.168.2.1 Belkin Wireless 192.168.1.101 ---->192.168.1.254 Billion xxx.xxx.131.237----> net

Regards

Billion BIPAC5100 router connected to the net.

This is fine

the inside is then connected to a belkin F5D7230-4 wirless router via static ip outside of belkin is 192.168.1.101 to inside of Billion which is ip 192.168.1.254

Turn the Belkin into a wireless access point instead of a router. Reduce the number of jumps you need to set.

If not, you DO need to forward ports on both.

Ok so do I forward the billion to the inside or the outside of the belkin.

therefore on the billion I would forward as follows

32459 ----> 192.168.1.101 (inside)

and on the belkin

32459 ----> 192.168.2.100 (PC)

Is this correct or what should the forwards be.

If it doesn't work it's because it is doing NAT twice.

The listening ports are open, but the sends/replies will turn up dead on the outer box, because they can't see where they need to go.

Both boxes will probably force the use of NAT, unless you (as mentioned) make the outer one (with the ISP link) disable NAT entirely. Indeed, first try making 192.168.1.101 (of the inner interface) a DMZ address on the outer one.

Have you tried that?

You can see what goes wrong when you check the NAT cache on both boxes (if they log/show them, most do).
