drewsandy
I just upgraded utorrent & now all my finished dwnlds that I was seeding are re-downloading as if they are new downloads. I checked my dwnload directory settings & they are right & all the finished downloads are still there. Everything was working fine before the upgrade. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I'm using win-7 & dwnlding to a USB drive. Help please. I'd hate to have to remove all these files so I don't re-dwnld them. That would suck cause I wouldn't be able to seed them either! Also, I'm not that knowledgable with this stuff so please don't get too technical cause I might have a hard time understanding! Thanks in advance & Merry Christmas! drewsandy
Ok... No replys yet...I've read all kinds of stuff trying to figure this out & have experimented a little as well on individual files to no avail. Months ago I used to put my dwnlds in G:drive but I filled that drive so I successfully moved everything to X:drive. All was well till this Utorrent upgrade. Now it seems to want to put most of my files back in G:drive thus causing it to redownload the files. I tried changing an individual file to X:drive successfully but now, even though the download was originally completed, it insists on redownloading it again even though the completed file is already in the same directory. In Options/Preferences/Directories I have the following settings: "-Put new dwnlds in: x:\my dwnlds\active dwnlds.-Move completed dwnlds to: x:\my dwnlds\a-completed.-Store .torrents in: x:\ my dwnlds\a-completed.-Move.torrents for finished jobs to: x:\my dwnlds\a-completed.-Automatically load .torrents from: x:\my dwnlds\a-completed.All the check boxes are checked except "delete loaded .torrents." Originally I didn't have "Append the .torrents label" checked but now I do but it didn't seem to do anything. (I'm not real clear on what it's supposed to do though.) Like I said in my 1st post, I'm not real tech minded so alot of what I read I didn't understand. At this point I'm lost as to how to fix this. Unless someone can help me figure this out my next step will be to remove all my completed files from my computer which I'd rather not do cause then I won't be able to continue seeding them as I have been. I'm sure there must be a simple cure for this! Please Help! Sorry for the long post! Thanks All & Merry Christmas!!!
Switeck
Try the migration guide:http://www.utorrent.com/documentation/migrate...Sounds like uTorrent got its resume.dat file corrupted by a computer crash while uTorrent was running. drewsandy
Thanks Switeck for the reply. I did have a crash so I guess that's what happened. I'll read the links you gave & see if anything fixes it. It might take some time as I've got to study for some tests this week. (Back in school again! Crappy economy!) I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks Again & Merry Christmas!Drew
drewsandy
Hi Switeck:I followed the directions in the links you gave me & it partially fixed my problem. I got frustrated though & wound up removing a bunch of torrents after that. So, I'm more or less starting over, but that's ok cause I was running out of room on my harddrive anyway. Thanks for your help & Have a Great Day! Yours:Drew
