djgdeadhead Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 First thing is I am not a programmer and don't know code but I know my way around Windows and have been downloading torrents for 3 years. I consider it a great privilege to be able to download free media and seed all my torrents to 3 before I take them down. (utorrent ratio 2.096) So to the point, I finally decided to try to create my own torrents and I am seeding my first one, the question is that there is 6 peers trying to download my torrent and I am the only seed, yet I am only connected to one of them, is there any thing I can do about this. Any help appreciated, I know I'm kind of a noob but please be patient. Is there any way for someone to block me from uploading to the other peers so he can get the completed file and be the seeder who gets all the tracked credit, I just joined some private sites so this is very important, plus It's a Grateful Dead torrent and there are never that many "peers" looking for them?Windows 7, 64Utorrent v2.0.4Comcast Cable: D - 8Mbps U - supposed to be 3 Mbps but usually maxes at 250 kBps (with utorrent running 24-7 I'm not complaining)pretty sure my settings are right I've researched Most of them and on all my other torrents I get awesome Down speeds and connect to many peers.
Switeck Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 2nd link in my signature, 2 mbit/sec upload settings...maybe try slightly higher upload speeds while ONLY seeding using the alternate upload limit for that.
djgdeadhead Posted December 19, 2010 Author Report Posted December 19, 2010 The only time I limit my upload speeds is when I'm seeding more than 3 or 4 torrents at a time, and this is only to make sure that they all seed evenly, sometimes I'll be seeding 5 or 6 torrents and 1 of them will be uploading at 200kBps while all the others only share 50 kBps of total speed. But for this one I paused all other transfers and set it to unlimited upload speed.
Switeck Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 You can upload more if you set an upload limit very close to max....Otherwise your ISP will randomly drop packets and force speeds possibly much LOWER than max.
