No Incoming Connections Errors - BUT still downloading??

I just switched to utorrent after using Bittorrent for about a year - just discovered this whole 'torrent world' after my son educated me, so I didn't use anything prior to Bittorrent.

However, almost every time I start a download, click on Open and it loads into uTorrent I get the error at the bottom right had corner saying there are no incoming connections and that if it doesn't turn green, it could indicate a problem with my network. Most times, however, the download starts properly {although it's typically slow as heck} and in many cases completes even though that error remains in place and it never turns green.

Does anyone have any ideas about this issue and the problems with my speed while using uTorrent? I never really had issues on BitTorrent related to my speed or connections, but changed to uTorrent after I reached one torrent site that for some reason, didn't support BitTorrent and recommended I switch to this one.

I would really appreciate any help or advice experienced users are able to provide. As I initially indicated at the top of my post - I'm a total newbie to torrents, so I am still getting familiar with the process and the sometimes complicated issues.

I hope everyone has a very safe and Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! Thanks again, for any and all replies to my post.

If you can make outgoing connections to other peers/seeds, you can download+upload.

No incoming connections usually means uTorrent is firewalled/blocked from getting incoming connections by a software firewall or router, and neither of which can be configured from within uTorrent. :(

uTorrent may run a little faster or at least cause less networking slowdowns for others if its settings match (or are lower) your connection's limit. Speed Guide (CTRL+G) in uTorrent can help with that.
