If It Ain't Broke Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 Your external is probably formatted as FAT32, which (since it is an older format) does not support files that are larger than 4GB.You will need to reformat the drive as NTFS (if you're using Windows) if you want to put >4GB files on it. Keep in mind that reformatting will probably erase all data on the drive.
Baratbatpo Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Posted December 21, 2010 i dont know how to reformat it could you explain it to me please
Baratbatpo Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Posted December 21, 2010 wait.. i read my external hard drive is NTFS (difficult) already
If It Ain't Broke Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 If your external hard drive is already formatted as NTFS, it should support files >4GB.For more info about formatting hard drives, Google is your friend. I am new here so don't count me as an authority, but I doubt the uTorrent forums are the place to ask for general computer help.
moogly Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 You don't need to reformat your HD, just convert it from FAT32 into NFTS without losing any data: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314097
