Konally Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 connected to my VPN. I'm not sure what's happening here. All of my settings are the same, I contacted Time Warner and the representative said it's a torrent application problem. But why can I browse fine when connected to the VPN?
DreadWingKnight Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Because it's a networking hardware problem, most likely your modem or router. It's bypassed because the traffic that goes over the VPN is going over one connection, where being directly connected has many.
Konally Posted December 22, 2010 Author Report Posted December 22, 2010 Hi and thanks. Is there anything that I can do to troubleshoot this?

Konally Posted December 25, 2010 Author Report Posted December 25, 2010 I guess I will have to get a new modem router, 'cause nothing that I tried worked, and just to check, I tried BitComet and Vuze without touching any settings. My connection just completely hung, too. Thanks for the help, DreadWingKnight and Switeck. Merry Christmas as well.
Konally Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 Okay, I got a new modem router today, and that was the problem. Everything is working perfect now. Just reporting back to let everyone know. Happy Holidays.
Konally Posted January 6, 2011 Author Report Posted January 6, 2011 Well the problem has returned. I even got a new router/modem from them (Time Warner), but it's still acting very strange. I now think that it could be because this one isn't on the Windows 7 router compatibility list. When I talked to a representative, the person told me that others have the same router and they aren't having any problems. Also, they say that every router they get is compatible with Windows 7. It's a CGD24G. When I asked for another Netgear model the represntative (days before) and the technician, that came to my house, said that they don't have any of the newer ones, so I guess I might have to buy my own.
