xhotmicx Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 It was working fine one day, and then all of a sudden nothing is downloading. it says DHT waiting to connect or "0 nodes". I ran the test and it came back with NAT-PMP and UPnP not enabled and that I should enable it. I check the preferences, and they ARE enabled. Before you tell me too use the search, I did use the search and most of the posts i read were a few years old and none of the stuff in there worked/ or even made sense to me for that matter. If anyone could help with this i'd appreciate it. i would really rather not use any other torrent software because i really like utorrent. and please, with your responses, try and dumb it down a bit for me. i'm not the most computer savvy person and idk what most of these acronyms mean. thanks everyone.

xhotmicx Posted December 26, 2010 Author Report Posted December 26, 2010 how do i allow UDP traffic in firewalls?
DreadWingKnight Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Use edit and not quote for your posts. You consult the firewall documentation for how to allow UDP traffic. If you don't have peerguardian, GOOD. Keep it that way.And step 3 just has whatever torrent works (usually the newest windows version)
xhotmicx Posted December 26, 2010 Author Report Posted December 26, 2010 ok. so i did all those things. everything was good. i downloaded one of those torrents from the site in step 3 and now my other torrents are downloading and the light is green. just wondering. do i have to finish downloading that torrent? if so, what do i do with it? is this just a temporary fix? how did this fix the problem?
DreadWingKnight Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 You don't need to keep it running. What it did was populate your DHT table with working nodes (including several semi-static nodes). It may only be a temporary fix, but any reasonably busy torrent you run with trackers defined in it SHOULD be able to jump-start your DHT again if the problem re-occurs.
xhotmicx Posted December 26, 2010 Author Report Posted December 26, 2010 yeah, i noticed in the beginning it brought up the nodes to about 250 something and everything was downloading really fast then after awhile it started dropping. its back down to "DHT waiting to log in" but my torrents are slowly downloading. weird, this has never happened before until a couple days ago. i'll mess around with it for a bit, is there anyway to just change it to default settings or anything? either way, its working (more or less) now and i really appreciate your help. thanks alot Dread wing!
