behruzraazh Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 hey guysIs it possible to remove utorrnet.exe from Task Manager in a way that doesn't exit the program?because i am running the utorrent in hide mode and when other people are using the internet, they are wondering why the speed is so slow, so they will check the Task Manager and will definitely end the utorrent.exe process. Can i hide the process in the task manager?thank you
DreadWingKnight Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 No. That would be rootkit behavior.
Sam Hobbs Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 If the program were a service then it would not appear in the Task Manager but since it is not a service it would have to use undocumented features of Windows and it would be identified as potentially malicious by anti-virus software. The developers could work with AV vendors to identify it as safe but that would be extra work.Windows supports something called Policies. As the owner of your system, you can set the Policies as you wish. I am not sure if any Policy would help in this situation, but it is worth looking at. If you don't know where to look for help with Policies, try using the Microsoft Technet. There are many forums that specialize in Windows that can help.
Firon Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 No, but you could just name it something besides utorrent.exe.
