bvgriswold Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Every time i attempt to upload something i get the error message 'former volume not mounted' i have read thru alot of these forums and couldnt find anything.
moogly Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Because your torrents are stored on an external HD and this one is not reachable (that's the case if you start µT before plugging the HD in).Force a recheck to resume the torrent jobs.
techx Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 i have the same problem. sort of. i reinstalled windows and my storage drive letter was changed. there has got to be a way to fix this without changing the drive letter. since reinstalling i have installed utorrent and have several additional downloads on the new drive letter. so I have torrents with the new and torrents with old drive letter.i have read several threads of people having this problem about the drive letter being changed and saying something like "oh, i figured it out ..... my drive letter changed" but nobody bothers to go into how they go about fixing it.
moogly Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 It's easy to fix the drive letter if this one changed for some reasons. Just open the Disk Management menu in Windows and manage the drive letters for your disks/partitions.
techx Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 thanks for the post but i dont think you read mine
moogly Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Use the freeware BEncode Editor and edit resume.dat to change the old drive letter to the new one for the torrent jobs presenting this error (use the function 'find/replace').
techx Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 if you right click on the torrent and go to advanced you can "set download location" and browse for the new location and force re-check. worked for me
