problems with utorrent 2.2

I have been using version 1.85 for years without any problems...I recently upgraded to 2.2 and in between changed my router from a netgear DG834GT to a Netgear DGND3300 and have not been able to get utorrent to work /download. On set up It tells me ports are open and network is configured but still no downloads. I never had to in put any additional settings into old router and I have followed port forwarding and firewall rules but neither configuration has made a diffrence. I have uninstalled and re-installed to no effect and I am at a loss as to what I am doing wrong as when I disconnect from my wireless network and use my three dongle utorrent works!!! It must be something to do with the wireless network or router I just dont have a clue what and I am not technically minded so can someone please help in anyway?
