cbang
Whenever I start uTorrent, even with no torrents active, it soon starts downloading massive amounts of data from 72.21.81.63. We're talking like 3-5MB/s. It pretty much chokes the internet connection, doesn't respect any of the bandwidth caps, and never stops. What could this be? How do I stop it? DreadWingKnight
Have you checked to make sure it's not an rss feed you have in your feed list?
cbang
Good call. I had been playing around with the RSS feature. After removing the Engadget Show RSS feed the downloading stopped. What's weird is that the rss feed wasn't actually showing any active downloads. It had a list of all the rss entries, but none of them could be downloaded. A closer inspection reveals that the URLs point to webpages instead of files.Looks like a uT bug. If any devs are interested in testing the rss feed is http://www.engadget.com/engadgetshow_hd.xml and I had it set to automatically download. Reproducible when I added the feed again. DreadWingKnight
It was trying to download the actual video files because the feed entries link them. There are no torrents in the feed.
