tcollins1388 Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I have been using uTorrent for over a year with no problems. Recently, I started getting a BSOD when I start up uTorrent.If uTorrent isn't running, my computer works with no problems. However, as soon as the client starts up, I instantly get a blue screen of death and my computer restarts.I uninstalled uTorrent and everything was running fine. Then I downloaded uTorrent and as soon as I opened it up, I got the BSOD once again.Here are the results from the BSOD.Help me please!! Thanks
moogly Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 THis screen is not useful.Use BlueScreenView v1.30 to open the last crash dump (.dmp) stored in C:\Windows\Minidump.Then save the log and copy the result here.
tcollins1388 Posted January 18, 2011 Author Report Posted January 18, 2011 There were multiple crashes. Here are the logs, in order of when they happened. It should also be noted that after the 3rd crash, I downloaded AVG and ran a virus scan (no viruses were found). After that, I opened uTorrent and once again got a BSOD.==================================================Dump File : 011711-32510-01.dmpCrash Time : 1/17/2011 8:32:49 PMBug Check String : KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRORBug Check Code : 0x0000007aParameter 1 : 0xc0447728Parameter 2 : 0xc0000185Parameter 3 : 0x16707860Parameter 4 : 0x88ee5b62Caused By Driver : ataport.SYSCaused By Address : ataport.SYS+1bb62File Description : ATAPI Driver ExtensionProduct Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating SystemCompany : Microsoft CorporationFile Version : 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255)Processor : 32-bitComputer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\011711-32510-01.dmpProcessors Count : 2Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7600Dump File Size : 150,920====================================================================================================Dump File : 011711-24039-01.dmpCrash Time : 1/17/2011 9:12:56 PMBug Check String : KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRORBug Check Code : 0x0000007aParameter 1 : 0xc07f4268Parameter 2 : 0xc0000185Parameter 3 : 0x2aa778c0Parameter 4 : 0xfe84dc58Caused By Driver : ntkrnlpa.exeCaused By Address : ntkrnlpa.exe+dcd10File Description : NT Kernel & SystemProduct Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating SystemCompany : Microsoft CorporationFile Version : 6.1.7600.16617 (win7_gdr.100618-1621)Processor : 32-bitComputer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\011711-24039-01.dmpProcessors Count : 2Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7600Dump File Size : 150,920====================================================================================================Dump File : 011711-19390-01.dmpCrash Time : 1/17/2011 9:44:40 PMBug Check String : KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRORBug Check Code : 0x0000007aParameter 1 : 0xc07f4040Parameter 2 : 0xc0000185Parameter 3 : 0x6ae798c0Parameter 4 : 0xfe808004Caused By Driver : ntkrnlpa.exeCaused By Address : ntkrnlpa.exe+dcd10File Description : NT Kernel & SystemProduct Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating SystemCompany : Microsoft CorporationFile Version : 6.1.7600.16617 (win7_gdr.100618-1621)Processor : 32-bitComputer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\011711-19390-01.dmpProcessors Count : 2Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7600Dump File Size : 150,920====================================================================================================Dump File : 011711-40513-01.dmpCrash Time : 1/17/2011 11:46:35 PMBug Check String : KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRORBug Check Code : 0x0000007aParameter 1 : 0xc04a06d8Parameter 2 : 0xc0000185Parameter 3 : 0x3b456820Parameter 4 : 0x940db000Caused By Driver : AVGIDSFilter.SysCaused By Address : AVGIDSFilter.Sys+20f5File Description : IDS Application Activity Monitor Filter Driver.Product Name : AVG IDSCompany : AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o.File Version : 10.0.0.309Processor : 32-bitComputer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\011711-40513-01.dmpProcessors Count : 2Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7600Dump File Size : 150,920====================================================================================================Dump File : 011811-39000-01.dmpCrash Time : 1/18/2011 12:11:36 AMBug Check String : KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRORBug Check Code : 0x0000007aParameter 1 : 0xc0416f10Parameter 2 : 0xc0000185Parameter 3 : 0x57534860Parameter 4 : 0x82de2727Caused By Driver : AVGIDSFilter.SysCaused By Address : AVGIDSFilter.Sys+20f5File Description : IDS Application Activity Monitor Filter Driver.Product Name : AVG IDSCompany : AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o.File Version : 10.0.0.309Processor : 32-bitComputer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\011811-39000-01.dmpProcessors Count : 2Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7600Dump File Size : 150,920==================================================
moogly Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Ok but which BSOD logs are related to µT?
tcollins1388 Posted January 18, 2011 Author Report Posted January 18, 2011 They all are. Each of these logs has been after uTorrent was opened. Here is another one I just got after trying to open uTorrent one more time.==================================================Dump File : 011811-51433-01.dmpCrash Time : 1/18/2011 12:12:53 PMBug Check String : KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRORBug Check Code : 0x0000007aParameter 1 : 0xc0416fb0Parameter 2 : 0xc0000185Parameter 3 : 0x31746860Parameter 4 : 0x82df6903Caused By Driver : AVGIDSFilter.SysCaused By Address : AVGIDSFilter.Sys+20f5File Description : IDS Application Activity Monitor Filter Driver.Product Name : AVG IDSCompany : AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o.File Version : 10.0.0.309Processor : 32-bitComputer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\011811-51433-01.dmpProcessors Count : 2Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7600Dump File Size : 150,920==================================================There is also something else that might be useful. For the past 6 months or so, I have been getting the following two messages when my computer boots up.Initializing Intel® Boot Agent GE v1.2.31P1PXE-E05: The LAN adapter's configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. The Boot Agent cannot continue.ERRORExpansion ROM not initialized - PCI on MotherboardBus: 00, Device: 00, Function: 00Press <ESC> to continueThese errors have never really been a problem in the past. I always just hit Escape, and Windows boots up normally. Could this be related to the BSOD? Could it be a RAM issue or possibly something wrong with the motherboard?
moogly Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Yes, there is something corrupted or broken in your computer. I see AVG is the culprit too, each AV has its own filter-driver.You should fix your network adapter/mothercard, update to the newest driver.
tcollins1388 Posted January 18, 2011 Author Report Posted January 18, 2011 Ok so I uninstalled AVG and that appears to have fixed most of the problems. When I run uTorrent, I no longer get a BSOD. However, the program runs extremely slow, and eventually "stops responding" and has to be force closed. It runs for about a minute before it starts slowing everything down.There are 5 torrents seeding, and 3 were in the process of downloading when I started getting these problems. The program starts to "check" these 3 torrents and on one of them, it gets to the same point (checked 8.5%) and then that's when the program stops responding and has to be closed.Any thoughts on this?
sundart Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Better to format the PC otherwise your harddisk will crash out.if continoue
s1kb45trd Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 i'm getting crashes/bsod's referring to a problem with ndis.sys.i've been using the same hardware and drivers with older versions of utorrent and never had any problems. but since updating to version 2.2 i've been having problems, and my system crashes within 10-15 mins when downloading torrents (approx. 3-4 torrents at a time).recently, i decided to reformat my pc, thought that it might also remove my issue with utorrent. i installed the latest driver and updates for my devices and started up utorrent. guess what, it's still crashing. it cant be the hardware alone that is causing this. the only new software i installed is avast antivir. i still use zone alarm as my firewall just like before. to cut a long story short, i found a "temporary" solution somewhere on the net. - go to network connections and click on Local Area Connection then go on Properties.- uninstall all of the components in the list except "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "Internet Protocol TCP/IP"this seemed to work for me (so far!). my system:Win XP SP3Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (using the latest driver I could find)ZoneAlarmAvast AntiviruTorrent 2.2
Firon Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Have you tried updating your Realtek drivers, and uninstalling Zone Alarm?
