quikslver Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Not really a problem here but a question.I use Jdownloader to get stuff off DDL sites likes hotfile, megaupload etc. When I'm downloading I get my top speed and everything is great. If I decide to go check some websites out Jdownloader automatically lowers it's download speed and gives me the bandwidth I need to surf without lag. Then when my connection is idle it goes back to full. This does not happen with utorrent, is there someway I can get it to do the same?
lithopsian Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 uTorrent, from versions 2.0 onwards, uses a protocol that should automatically adjust its bandwidth usage to avoid slowing down other users of the network. Basically this is enabled by the "Enable bandwidth management" option in the BitTorrent pane of the options dialog, although it isn't always very visible that this is happening. There are also other problems that could continue to get in the way of your browsing. What bandwidth settings do you have?
quikslver Posted January 23, 2011 Author Report Posted January 23, 2011 I'm on Ver. 2.2, most of my settings were kept at the defaults but I do have my listening port forwarded through my routers. I also allowed my Windows7 firewall to add rules allowing udp/tcp. The bandwidth management option was already enabled so I turned it off to see if I could notice any difference, which I didn't. Thanks for replying and here's a screen of my current settings.
