Can't log in anymore - Ubuntu 10.10

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I installed uTorrent on my NAS and it worked flawlessly. I followed the simple install steps of unpacking, allowing the utserver to be executed, running it, navigating to port 8080 on the machine and logging in with my username. I even downloaded a few torrents.

This morning, I woke up, rebooted the machine (there was a kernel update) and ran utserver again. It won't let me log in at all.

HTTP: IP 192.168.0.12: Bad username/password

I thought maybe Chrome was acting up, so I tried Firefox. Then Internet Explorer.

Then I thought maybe it was a permissions issue so I enabled the root account and tried to use that to log in.

Then I thought maybe my utserver installation was hosed somehow so I deleted everything and started from scratch (including re-downloading the archive)

The next thing I tried was installing utserver in a place outside of my home folder (I'd placed it in /home/utserver/ so that file fragments could be on the 2TB disk that's mounted in /home), so I went with what everyone else is doing and installed it in /opt/utserver/.

For further information, this is what I see on first run:

server started - using locale en_CA.UTF-8
File not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat
File not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.new
File not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.old
File not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat
File not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.new
File not found during integrity check: ./settings.dat.old
File not found during integrity check: ./dht.dat
File not found during integrity check: ./dht.dat.new
File not found during integrity check: ./dht.dat.old
File not found during integrity check: ./rss.dat
File not found during integrity check: ./rss.dat.new
File not found during integrity check: ./rss.dat.old
File not found during integrity check: ./resume.dat
File not found during integrity check: ./resume.dat.new
File not found during integrity check: ./resume.dat.old
IPv6 is installed

And then on subsequent runs I see this:

server started - using locale en_CA.UTF-8
IPv6 is installed

uTorrent version is alpha (3.0 build 24118)
