roland5668
I was downloading a 7gb movie file (including associated files) with 6gb already finished when I exited utorrent. Later, when I re-started utorrent I was shocked to see utorrent showing 0 bytes completed and 0% done! Yet when I checked the containing folder, all the files were there, albeit incomplete. Sure enough when I re-started the torrent, the whole thing started downloading from 0 bytes to the same folder, obviously no longer recognizing the finished 6gb. I don't have super fast internet and this file took a while to download. Is it possible to recover from this without re-downloading the whole thing. Please help! Where there any changes made to where utorrent saved the files during this time? Also that file you downloaded could be a invalid file itself that might be why utorrent deleted it and tried to download it again. In which case is the likely culprit a invalid file. The torrent itself still points to the original destination directory, which still contains the incomplete movie file plus the completed associated files like the screenshots and the sample video. I have made no changes to the destination directory during this time. This whole thing mystifies me since I have been using utorrent for a long time without experiencing any problems whatsoever. I'm definitely spooked by this mishap. By the way, I think I'm not the only one who faced this predicament. Soon after my posting, someone named makdisse also complained of a similar problem. Here is the link to his post: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=93684Anyway, thanks PiusX for taking the time to reply. Any new suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
