jpgreen3 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 A power supply failure caused a sudden crash. After repair and a normal restart of uTorrent 2.2, uTorrent no longer reports any loaded torrents - I've lost my total history, including torrents I was seeding. It also lost torrent label definitions. I understand I can go back into my torrent directory and reload individual torrents, point to the download location to resume seeding / download of the torrent - but is there any way I can recover my torrent history, including labels and seed ratio? btw, I love v2.2's ability to move files when I change a download location. uTorrent v2.2, Vista32
moogly Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 %appdata%\utorrent: do you see resume.dat.bad?
jpgreen3 Posted January 27, 2011 Author Report Posted January 27, 2011 I did not see resume.dat.bad, but I did find resume.dat and resume.dat.old (small files), both from earlier today when I was restarting the computer after repair. I did find two-day old version of resume.dat (3300KB) in Previous Versions, which I copied to a backup location, and then into the ...uTorrent directory you referenced. Upon restart of uTorrent 2.2 things were restored to the state 2 days ago - I can manually re-add torrents from my configured torrent directory to catch up. Thanks for your help. You Rock! I would hate to lose all that history.
moogly Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Next time, make regular backups of this folder (or just resume.dat), especially if power failures are frequent.
jpgreen3 Posted January 27, 2011 Author Report Posted January 27, 2011 When does uTorrent update resume.dat? Periodically during execution, or just when I exit uTorrent?
jpgreen3 Posted January 27, 2011 Author Report Posted January 27, 2011 Perfect! I'll add that directory to my scheduled Robocopy backups. Thanks again for your help.
