robohunterx
So I've been into torrenting for quite a while now. Yet still I do not fully understand proxy's and how exactly to connect to them. For a while, around 2-3 years ago, I was home free to download any torrent, without the use of a proxy. That is until my ISP had to block the Ports for torrenting, due to the government getting involved. However, about a month ago I was able to start torrening again due to the use of a very simple HTTP Proxy that I just stumbled upon, and look it works! But now I'm have a lot of issues with proxy's. For example, I can only "find" seeders, I do not start out with them, nor can I connect to the Trackers due to a Proxy error. Background on my ISP: I get my internet from some absolutely ridicules method. (As that was the only high-speed internet available at the time) Basically a guy came up, and offered high-speed internet off of an ISP, via microwave transmitters. However, he has total control of the routers, and the actual framework of the microwave transmitters does NOT allow for much room to forward ports (Stupid right?). So he has still blocked all forms of torrenting. I'm just having a grand time attempting to get a working proxy, that allows me to see the trackers. The Main error of the Trackers on the proxy is "Proxy connect Error, Hostname not found"I've also attempted to use a program called "Your Freedom" which is supposedly allows you to connect to a proxy, and setup your Utorrent settings for "localhost" and use that as a proxy, yet I've had no luck with this method as well.My Current client for torrenting is of course, Utorrent 2.2Proxy Settings:Listening Port 8080Enable UPnP Port Mapping - YesEnable NAT-PMP port mapping - YesAdd Win Firewall Exception - YesProxy Server:Type: HTTPSProxy: https://www.polysolve.com/Port: 8080Authentication - NoUse Proxy for Hostname lookups - YesUse proxy for P2P connections - YesProxy Privacy:All UncheckedPS. I also, under BitTorrent, have the Protocol Encryption on Outgoing set to "Enabled" and the "Allow incoming legacy connections" is checked as well.I've searched and searched on how to really use a Proxy, with no luck. I hope someone could assist me.
