akaidiot
Since uTorrent is aimed to be a small and transparent bittorrent client I think the ability to fast and seamlessly add a new torrent without having to maximize the program from the tray. I just press ok and utorrent takes care of the rest. It would add to the "transparentness".And also, make the "new torrent"(or what it is called) prompt be set to active as soon as it's initiated. Right now even with uTorrent maximized but behind my active firefox window the utorrent task just starts flashing in the taskbar and I have to click on the program myself when opening a torrent. It just seams unneccesary.
chaosblade
I thought it already does this. When i click a torrent from a website, its loaded in uTorrent automaticlly, without having to touch anything.uTorrent is associated with .torrent files, so the browser downloads and executes the torrent, causes it to load. akaidiot
Well yes that is true. But only if you set it to download all torrents to a specific folder. But I want to choose where to download all my torrents. Although my previous request of Rules for where to auto-download a torrent based on filename I woun't need this request

And why do you insist on posting links to previous topics of yours? If no one wanted to reply a month ago, they probably had a reason, your topics are redundant and you might as well bump the others rather than clutter the forum with excessive posts. I specifically said that it does stay in the tray if you set it to download all torrents to a specific folder. But my request was for the "new torrents" prompt to be called up when a new torrent is added and when I'ce chosen where to download a torrent and click ok uTorrent will be back to just be a tray icon instead of taking up room in my taskbar as it does(for me) right now.I didn't just post a link to a previous topic. It was a possible solution to this feature request. So why don't you stop cluttering the forum with excessive posts? Thanks!
dajojo88
If you want to, we can turn this topic into a flame war, a flame war that i will undoubtably win due to the fact of my superior intelligence. At the moment this topic stands no chance of redemption, due mainly to the fact of the obscurity of your request and suggested solution. From your original post, you requested a feature that already exists, and after clairfying your request it became clear to me that you are lazy and no solution will actually satisfy you. The only way to make this feature work would be to place torrents in directories based on file extension or keywords, and while this may seem like an effective solution to your problem, it is still pointless. Just download all the files to one spot and then move then once you are done seeding, or you can spend the three seconds it takes to find a folder and save the torrent manually. Someone please correct me if i am wrong, but I doubt there are very many users who run into this issue.
akaidiot
Superior intelligence-smitelligence. I don't need it and never have. The whole reason of my request(s) is to tip the developers and if they find any reason or will to add it into the program I hope they will. And if they do I will be satisfied. I hope you got that, if not read it again slowly. The feature doesn't exist. End of story. The only way to make the download-rules feature work is by useing the file extension or keyword, that is exactly my request, and if the feature was available you wouldn't have to stop seeding the torrent to move it. But that doesn't belong to this thread.
ScubaSteve
now now children no need to fight over this. he has made a perfectly reasonable request it seems that he just didnt explain it in the best possible way.i understand what your saying akaidiot. what you mean is that the program runs in the tray and when u load a torrent instead of opening the main window it will only display the dialog asking where you would like the file saved. thus eliminating the need to have to minimize the main window again.
