radiant
Shortly after starting a torrent to download, I recieve a pop-up telling me that the "semaphore timeout period has expired."I currently have the "My Documents" folder (where I would like to save torrents) on a seperate hard drive. The only solution that I have been able to come up with (and is more of a workaround) is to save the torrent to my desktop.I've searched and have been unable to find anything like this, or something related that explains my problem. Does anyone have an idea as to what is causing this weird error message or a way to fix it?Thanks
Ultima
Sounds more like a Windows problem -- I don't remember what semaphores are (should've paid attention during Systems Programming), but I recall that it has to do with the system kernel... What OS are you using?
radiant
Windows XP, SP2. It wouldn't suprise me if Windows had something to do with this, but its on its way out, so I only need to be able to deal with it for a bit longer. In any case, any ideas for tests I should run? Firon
Do you have the latest drivers for your board? And is it USB2?
radiant
I have all current drivers (mobo, video etc.) and the drive an IDE internal. Again, its beyond me why I should be getting a timeout.

snarler45
I have this problem with Linuxtracker.org and a 3.87Gig Knoppix iso - other trackers and torrents are fine so I assume it is something to do with this site. 1142 seeds for this torrent so it must be working - any ideas? DreadWingKnight
It's probably a problem specific to that one tracker you're dealing with.Linuxtracker.org is an index with their own tracker as an option. Most torrents are tracked out of separate trackers.
