welshmen Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hi, though I'm not new to utorrnet, I am new to the forums. I've been using utorrent for a couple years now and have no problems with connections till now. I have recently built a new PC and installed utorrent and had it auto setup my connection, this is how i did it the first time on the older computer and always had a green icon showing the connection was sound. But this time around it doesn't seem to get passed the yield icon and i'm stuck. I'd like to say before any member that is higher on this subject doesn't lash out about searching the forums or Google and using the portforward.com. I've done and used all of the FAQ's that utorrent has provided and done and re-done all the portforward.com tutorials made for my brand and series router. I've also searched the forums a little, i'm not going to go through 400+ pages, "forums" i would be lead to believed, are in place to help users with different/unique problems. I'm not saying that my problem is unlike anyone else's, but can't seem to find it here.Like I have mentioned before I had done the portforward.com tutorials a number of times, changing the ports and the IP address, and every time I start utorrent, I get a red icon in the lower right that saids "Listen Error you should change the listen port". But when i run the setup guide that test the port in use ( the port that i've forwarded) These are the Results: Port is not open (you are still able to download). which I assume would be what the yellow yield icons imposes, but yet it is red. I have great bandwidth and would like to utilize it like a had with the order computer, which had no problems with connections (I have no information on any of the Preferences from the older PC's utorrent, I just left it well enough alone). If anyone has any ideas or similar problems, I would appreciate any help. Thanks for your time and any input.
moogly Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Which port number are you using?Did you check the portforwarding rules in your router (port number / local IP)?Did you add exceptions to your firewall? What's it?
welshmen Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 Yes I've done all that. the port number is an open and listening port, 59592 . This comes from DoS commands: netstat and netstat -an |find /i "listening". but regardless what port i mentioned above, I 've done this a number of times with different ports up and down the scale and either work. 59592 was just the last one i tried.
welshmen Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 is there really no one that can't help? I've done all the tuts and nothing is working. I've tried a number of ports and have done and redone all the steps from portforward.com. I've done it automatically and setup static ip addresses. I've added firewall exceptions to utorrent from windows to my router. I've taking every step that I've been able to find on this site and many many others with no positive results.
