dinmamma
Hi,I'm finding it unexpectedly hard to find information about what a) utorrent and any bittorrent client is supposed to do in the above scenario. What I *am* looking at however is a torrent with 1 seed and 46 peers where almost no traffic is going on between peers and all peers are in lockstep with respect to the number of pieces they have. I am concluding that they all have the same pieces, thus making all remaining pieces equally rare and the only one who has them is the single seed. The question I'm trying to find an answer to is whether rarest first is really supposed to be that deterministic? If the clients were asking for random rare pieces it seems inevitable that everyone would have had the entire download hours ago?
DreadWingKnight
Do you actually know for a 100% fact that the seed is capable of uploading pieces fast enough to upload the entire file in that timeframe?
dinmamma
I'm never 100% sure of anything, but it certainly seems much more likely than not. We're talking ISDN speeds.
