Download speed rapid and unlogical change

Hey all.

I write a topic in this area because i have come across a slight problem.

I use bittorrent for downloading, and i have a torrent downloading. Now the problem is that when it started downloading it had a download speed that varied from 25 kB/s to about 100 kB/s. Then it went up to a speed of about 1000 - 2000 kB/s and stayed there for a while. Now it has all the suddent gone down again. Now it should be on at least 500 - 1000 kB/s considering that i have a broadband connection with a speed of 30 Mbit/s, and i have made several speedtest and none of the speed goes away or anything. It has a seed value of about 24 seeds out of 1047, and 25 out of 2209 peers.

This is really making me rather confused, what is it that makes this speed make such a rapid change? I have already configured my router and firewall correctly, and everything should be good. So what's happening, any ideas?
