Is there a way to download without your provider knowing ?

I guess it's an old question, but I've yet to find a good answer...

Is there a way to download without your provider knowing what content you are downloading ?

I'm not talking about volume limitations, just a way to "hide" the content. (like mp3 files or .avi, etc.)

I'm from Europe and the internet law is getting more and more strand.

It would be very sad that we all get a law-suit for downloading content from the web.

I've been looking into proxy servers, but don't really understand how this would avoid the problem.

Anyone ?

VPN service is surely the best solution for that. Anyway you have to trust what the VPN provider says (or doesn't say but does...) about the connection logs.
