WGH Posted March 8, 2011 Report Share Posted March 8, 2011 Hello everyone!I have a particularly large torrent-file (790 GB). I've successfully downloaded it using older version of µTorrent (1.9.x branch, IIRC).Recently that file has been updated to 870 GB. Unfortunately, I couldn't download it whole this time. I choose to remove unneeded files, and then download updated parts selectively.Once I've selected files in latest (2.2) client, I started re-check. It was done after a while, and torrent had been downloading with no problems. Then I've tried to close it, because I was going to put my computer to hibernation. Oddly enough, process didn't terminate. It was still around. Procmon utility showed that it was still doing some read-writes on that uTorrentPartFile. Very small ones, no more than 30-60 KB/s. It hanged for more than 10 minutes. I've killed the process and started it again. It showed "Checked 0.0%" status. It was doing no IO activity, so process of checking was stalled. I hit stop, and then start. GUI stopped responding, but the process started some IO activity. Procmon showed me again that it's doing essentially the same things with that uTorrentPartFile as when it hanged on exit. The picture in Process Explorer is actually more interesting. (screenshot of Performance Graph)Unfortunately, I didn't save screenshot of procexp when it hanged on exit. But it's absolutely the same, except Private Bytes graph was not climbing, but it was stalled.(screenshot of Procmon)So essentially it's doing some weird things with uTorrentPartFile, making no actual progress.Killing the process returns me to that "Checked 0.0%" point with no change.P.S. Tried latest µTorrent Release Candidate 2(2.2.1)), no change Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
WGH Posted March 8, 2011 Author Report Share Posted March 8, 2011 Sorry for multiposting, another bit of info.I've added another torrent file, not that large. I've noticed that µTorrent continues to do something with that uTorrentPartFile file in the background even when it's stopped.. Moreover, it brings downloading of other torrents to halt after a while. Don't know, why. Despite showing "Downloading" status, other torrents are running at like 9 KB/s (and that's reported speed, actual one could be even zero). Deletion of uTorrentPartFile doesn't change anything, too. It just creates it again and continues to do the same.Hard drive speed is not the bottleneck, I've checked that.But! µTorrent also says that Disk is overloaded. Probably that odd activity prevents the client from flushing the cache at allP.S.Call stack for reads:0 fltmgr.sys FltpPerformPreCallbacks + 0x2f7 0xfffff8800127b027 C:\Windows\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys1 fltmgr.sys FltpPassThroughFastIo + 0x4d 0xfffff8800127db9d C:\Windows\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys2 fltmgr.sys FltpFastIoRead + 0x1d0 0xfffff8800129b5f0 C:\Windows\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys3 ntoskrnl.exe NtReadFile + 0x417 0xfffff80002fa20c9 C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe4 ntoskrnl.exe KiSystemServiceCopyEnd + 0x13 0xfffff80002c85993 C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe5 wow64cpu.dll CpupSyscallStub + 0x9 0x74462dd9 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64cpu.dll6 wow64cpu.dll ReadWriteFileFault + 0x31 0x744629e3 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64cpu.dll7 wow64.dll Wow64SystemServiceEx + 0x1ce 0x744dd07e C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64.dll8 wow64.dll Wow64LdrpInitialize + 0x429 0x744dc549 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64.dll9 ntdll.dll ?? ::FNODOBFM::`string' + 0x2b064 0x76d9bd67 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll10 ntdll.dll LdrInitializeThunk + 0xe 0x76d52ace C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll11 ntdll.dll NtReadFile + 0x15 0x76f1f895 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll12 KERNELBASE.dll ReadFile + 0x118 0x7569d0c5 C:\Windows\syswow64\KERNELBASE.dll13 kernel32.dll ReadFileImplementation + 0xf0 0x754618aa C:\Windows\syswow64\kernel32.dll14 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x455ff 0x4455ff C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe15 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1a6f2 0x41a6f2 C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe16 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1a97f 0x41a97f C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe17 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1b77d 0x41b77d C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe18 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1b8fd 0x41b8fd C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe19 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1bf0d 0x41bf0d C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe20 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1c379 0x41c379 C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exeCall stack for writes:0 fltmgr.sys FltpPerformPreCallbacks + 0x2f7 0xfffff8800127b027 C:\Windows\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys1 fltmgr.sys FltpPassThroughFastIo + 0x4d 0xfffff8800127db9d C:\Windows\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys2 fltmgr.sys FltpFastIoWrite + 0x1ce 0xfffff8800129b7fe C:\Windows\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys3 ntoskrnl.exe NtWriteFile + 0x5ad 0xfffff80002f9b64e C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe4 ntoskrnl.exe KiSystemServiceCopyEnd + 0x13 0xfffff80002c85993 C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe5 wow64cpu.dll CpupSyscallStub + 0x9 0x74462dd9 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64cpu.dll6 wow64cpu.dll ReadWriteFileFault + 0x31 0x744629e3 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64cpu.dll7 wow64.dll Wow64SystemServiceEx + 0x1ce 0x744dd07e C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64.dll8 wow64.dll Wow64LdrpInitialize + 0x429 0x744dc549 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64.dll9 ntdll.dll ?? ::FNODOBFM::`string' + 0x2b064 0x76d9bd67 C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll10 ntdll.dll LdrInitializeThunk + 0xe 0x76d52ace C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll11 ntdll.dll ZwWriteFile + 0x15 0x76f1f8cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll12 KERNELBASE.dll WriteFile + 0x113 0x7569d232 C:\Windows\syswow64\KERNELBASE.dll13 kernel32.dll WriteFileImplementation + 0x76 0x754612ac C:\Windows\syswow64\kernel32.dll14 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x45536 0x445536 C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe15 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x45644 0x445644 C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe16 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1a97f 0x41a97f C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe17 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1b77d 0x41b77d C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe18 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1b8fd 0x41b8fd C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe19 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1bf0d 0x41bf0d C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe20 uTorrent.exe uTorrent.exe + 0x1c379 0x41c379 C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
