mykotron Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Is there a way to make it so that uTorrent automatically puts the bandwidth allocation to HIGH and Force Start for each torrent that I download? Thanks!
Ultima Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 No. And quite frankly, I don't see it ever happening. I don't see any real justification for either (especially not the bandwidth allocation one).
mykotron Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 the whole torrent downloading thing is still pretty tedious... I'm just trying to find any way possible to speed it up and automate it. I just found a Firefox add-on which downloads all of my torrents into specific folders dependent on what site I get it from which is handy. What would be nice also is a way for utorrent to search for missing files associated with a torrent.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Well, your force starting torrents is more likely to slow them down than speed them up.What would be nice also is a way for utorrent to search for missing files associated with a torrent. As long as there is no per-file hash information in torrents, automating this is impossible.
Ultima Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Setting bandwidth allocation to high makes bandwidth allocation completely useless for speed too. Bandwidth allocation is relative to all other torrents' allocations. If all torrents have high allocation, then they're all the same relative to each other, which would make it no different from having them all on normal allocation.
