Cyberek Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Version 1.0.2 (23439) on MacI have the same problem with uTorrent since few versions. It starting ok, i add a torrent, download begins, goes to full speed, and after like 10-20 seconds suddenly speed drops to max 10 kB/s. From that moment, uTorrent is in some kind of strange state - if I press stop and play on any torrent - it crash (program not responding), if i close it (by closing entire app not only window) - it is still visible in dock tray, but cannot be reopen. It can stay in this state for qiute long. Only way to corrct this is to force quit of program. After that, application opens correctly, check all its files, start downloading and either is ok, or situation starts again. Very frustrating, makes uTorrent useless.Anybody had same issues?Oh... Also - deleting configuration files and configuring again used to work for a while, and problem appeared again, but last time, it did even worse... For each torrent, every 10-20seconds torrent blink with red ! mark (unavailable), speed drops to 0, and starting to increment again.Tested uTorrent on windows Xp machine, In the same network, on the same torrents, and everything was ok.
timeimp Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Open Console from /Applications/Utilities/ and filter for 'utorrent' (without quotes) and open uTorrent at the same time. You should then have uTorrent messages begin appearing. Console is the log viewer for Mac that often assists with any issues you may come across. As uTorrent begins slowing down, check the log file. you should see stuff like:17/03/11 10:44:44 PM Firewall[91] uTorrent is listening from 0.0.0.0:50300 proto=617/03/11 10:44:57 PM uTorrent[9581] Notification: BitTorrentError (msgid=32772, wparam=2)17/03/11 10:44:58 PM Firewall[91] uTorrent is listening from :::50300 proto=617/03/11 10:44:58 PM Firewall[91] uTorrent is listening from 0.0.0.0:8080 proto=617/03/11 10:44:58 PM Firewall[91] uTorrent is listening from :::8080 proto=6When the app crashes, you will see an app called 'Crash Reporter' starting up, then the process of uTorrent has begun to crash and OS X is collecting data to send to Apple. Copy and paste in a reply all the 'uTorrent' messages from the time you open it and then when it crashes here and I should be able to help you out. Also, you may want to check your Firewall settings ( > System Preferences > Security > Firewall > Advanced > Exception) that uTorrent is ALLOWED and that 'Stealth Mode' is disabled.-timeimp
