Not downloading

My utorrent was working perfectly well, up until about two weeks ago. As far as i know, I have done nothing to change the configuration. Previously I would go to a website, choose a file to download, and utorrent would begin downloading the file within minutes. In the past two weeks, I go through the same procedure, chossing the file etc. The requested torrent appears on my utorrent download list, says it is downloading, but nothing acftually downloads, sometimes for hours, then for no apparent reason the file will begin to download. I have tried changing the port, closing utorrent and restarting, but nothing appears to help. Then after some time, the file will suddenly begin downloading. This occurs with every file I choose for download.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, as it's become more than a little annoying.
