UserInterface Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 I have read the documentation on migrating but was wondering if I could just back up that Users directory and just overwrite the files on the new install once complete so that I don't have to go through all the renaming etc..Anyone know if this is possible? I believe that win7 has the same folder structure and I am planning on making sure that all the drive names are the same so can not see an issue with dropping the userdata information over the top unless there is more data stored else where like in reg or if utorrent just cant pick up from its current state due to any other reason. To paint the picture, I am wanting to do a clean install on C:\ to win 7.. I don't have the original torrent files as they get deleted as they get added. My files go into a Downloading\Downloaded folder stored on another local drive so all the Part files should be in here. I also have a few more drives that I have moved torrents onto once completed that are local to this machine.
UserInterface Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Never mind worked it out, just copied the file back over the top of the new install.Problem arose for any that I had selected relocate for.. that sucked as usual.Maybe utorrent could inc. a migrate utility that would back it all up and restore to a new machine..
