Hey, I recently got a 20mb internet connection that is always at least 19+MB.... I was wondering about the speeds i should be getting on Utorrent! Should it not be a good chunk of MB like 10mb/s or more??

The MAX i have seen in Utorrent is 2mb/s which is super fast and i love it, but is there a way to set up utorrent so i sucks every MB of ur Internet out?

I have downloaded multiple torrents with good seed 2 peer ratio's yet only have a max of 2mb/s is there something that im missing? Cause i would love for my utorrent to use ALL of my Internet, so much that you can barley use the browser.

My questions are:

Is 1.5(2)mb/s good for a 20mb/s internet connection?

And is there a way to use ALL ur Internet?

uTorrent reports in *byte/sec

Most speedtests and internet provider propaganda report in *bit/sec

The difference is usually a factor of 8-10 (byte being the smaller number)

TY, that totally answers my question....

I have one more is it true the more you upload the faster your downloads go? Or is that just urban myth? Like does Utorrent keep a log of your ratio and decide your speeds based anything upon that, cause i have a few friends that believe that!?

It's a per-torrent thing, and no it's not a myth.

The more you upload on a given torrent (to a point) the more you get in download.

So what would a good limit on upload be for my internet connection be? My max is usually 160, yet i hear if i MAX's then it negatively effects your downloads?

Yet the fact of a overall ratio is a myth, right?

Overall ratios don't exist in the BitTorrent protocol.

What you should use for your upload limit is approximately 80% of your line's total upload capacity, fine-tuning until you find the true sweet spot.
