moogly Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Your VPN client proxifies all the outgoing traffic (TCP/UDP), but you can set your firewall to block µT if the VPN connection drops down, so your real IP doesn't leak.
ecter Posted March 26, 2011 Author Report Posted March 26, 2011 so my vpn client isnt hidding my IP adress when i am torrenting? i need to have my firewall block ip comming from U torrent? Wont that stop downloads?
moogly Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Your VPN (especially if your are using OpenVPN client, PPTP clients can leak the real IP with IPv6) hides your real IP. But if the VPN connection drops down, µT uses your real IP that leaks. That's why your firewall can help you to block all the connections if the VPN drops down.
irish1982e Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 How do I configure the Windows firewall (Vista) to act like this? Sorry for the NOOBE question; just suddenly had to add some security around here 8-).
